It’s Not Gay, 2 of 3

Former WWE Tag Team champs Paul London and Brian Kendrick released a video called “London and Kendrick’s Bogus Journey” where they answer questions about the Biz and share their thoughts on a number of topics.  This video is available for purchase from Highspots.

At one point in the interview, the boys joke about the homo-erotic aspects of their sport.  London mentions “the fact that you’re in your fucking underwear” as evidence of wrestling’s gay undertone.

London then stares directly into the camera and whispers in a deep, husky voice: “I’m gonna fight you… and I want you to not wear a lot of clothing.

London: “Just take off your clothes!

Kendrick: “Do you mind if I spray down a little bit first?

London: “I want you to get really shimmery and spray down!”

Kendrick: “Can I put on something shiny?

London: “Yeah.  I want you to drip.  When I fight you, I want you to be dripping on me.

London is lampooning the obvious homo-erotic elements of wrestling while at the same time, flirting with the camera and his partner.  Kendrick joins in the sexually-charged talk, teasing London by offering to spray down his body, to put on tassels, etc.

Pointing to Kendrick’s clothing, London says: “Take all this off, except leave the pantaloons.”

Kendrick: “The underwear.  Yeah!

London  [continuing to talk in a low, growling voice]: “When you are glistening, when we can slither on each other, only then will I fight you.”

The fact that London and Kendrick are attractive men, that there is obvious chemistry and sexual tension between them, adds to the erotic tone of this segment of their interview.  Their laughing flirtation as they discuss the homo-erotic aspects of pro wrestling comes off as more titillating than comical, more arousing than amusing.

You can view this flirtatious exchange between the two buddies in a clip on YouTube, which is ironically titled: “It’s Not Gay, It’s Pro Wrestling.”

In their interview, London and Kendrick are boldly going where few wrestlers have gone before: they’re “outing” pro wrestling as potentially homo-erotic. They’re saying to the fans: “Can’t you people see what we’re doing here?!  Wresting is obviously a gay dick-tease!

They’ve copped to dressing up in order to be attractive and appealing to other men, which has traditionally been a secret in the pro wrestling industry (or at least not talked about out loud.)

Kendrick and London’s frank admission reminded me of another YouTube clip from a fake documentary about pro wrestling.  The boys are struggling to answer the question: “Do you believe there’s a link between wrestling and homo-eroticism?

At first, the wrestlers deny any gay aspects of their sport, in spite of the near nudity, the tights, the shaved, oiled, hairless bodies.  None of that is gay, right??

However Scotty Mac is participating in this interview, wearing the pink bandanna and dark t-shirt.  You may have seen Scotty Mac previously on this Blog, or the Cyberfights website, or from numerous Indy wrestling federations.

It is difficult for Scotty to deny any homo-eroticism in pro wrestling when he has appeared in videos produced and marketed to a gay audience.  Scotty points out that wrestling does, after all, have some aspects that may appear gay to an on-looker…

“You could see why people would be confused:  a bunch of hot, verile, sexy young men, sweating under hot lights, dressed in spandex, doing all sorts of Body Scissors and Bearhugs.  You guys could see why people would be confused…”

The other wrestlers are shocked by his comment, uncomfortable with being outed, and perhaps stunned that Scotty has broken the Code of Silence when it comes to the homo-erotic antics in the wrestling ring.  Similar to Paul London, Scotty Mac has taken the bold step of dragging Pro Wrestling’s homo-sexual baggage out of the closet and laying it on the table, openly admitting that, if wrestling isn’t meant to be gay, it sure looks and feels pretty gay.

Here are some images of Scotty Mac in a private match, sprayed down and dripping as he tortures fellow underground wrestler Cameron Matthews…

This underground match, marketed to males who are turned on by wrestling, features the typical pro wrestling moves by handsome men wearing gear that is just as revealing as the usual wrestling trunks.  This match fits somewhere in between graphic pornography and the typical mainstream pro wrestling show happening today at a gymnasium, VFW hall, or arena near you.  This sort of video is the missing link between pro wrestling and gay porn.

The fact that pro wrestling exists on a gay pornography continuum — on a Kinsey scale of homo-eroticism — makes it problematic to describe as “not gay” and never gay.  When people claim “It’s not gay, it’s pro wrestling,” what they’re really meaning to say is: “At least pro wrestling is not as graphic as other forms of pornography.”

Damn, I Love Me Some Scotty Mac. Interesting to Note That Scotty Mac Is Canadian. The Whole Gay “Question” Seems To Be Less of An Issue For Wrestlers From Countries Where They Are More Accepting Like Canada, Germany, Holland etc. AND Those Wrestlers Enjoy The Attention, Hell, A Fan is A Fan To Them.

Hey! Can anybody please tell me if Kendrick and London have EVER wrestled (TOGETHER), wearing skimpy, bulging, speedo-type trunks? I believe that they’ve worn ULTRA-BAGGY trunks ever since they’ve teamed up. If true, could it be that whenever they wrestle together, just the sight of each other causes a raging boners for both? If THAT’S it, then their choice of ring wear – BAGGY trunks – works quite well at concealing their mutual MAN-LUST! I’d LOVE to see THIS hunky tag team in tight, skimpy speedos; “HARD-ONS” BE DAMNED!

Whew! That hot little Kendrick…! (When I first saw him, he reminded me of Orlando Bloom.)

Paul London and Brian Kendrick are probably my favorite tag team ever, I grew up watching those two and their high flying pulse racing action. Watching these two guys in the ring would always get me excited, even before I really knew what I was getting excited about. It feels like London dropped off the face of the map after the WWE let him go there, was really disappointed in that. I also feel Kendrick ended up kind of lost without the tag team gimmick, I haven’t cared for The Brian Kendrick at all. The WWE’s tag team division really hasn’t been at the same level as back then I believe.
