Spike Torture

Jimmy Jacobs brought back a classic (and erotic) element of Old School Wrestling when he began sneaking a metal spike into the ring.  This is a nice tribute by Jacobs to the Original Sheik — a vicious wrestler who scared and excited me with his wild, uncontrollable brutality from before I even understood what a boner was.

Similar to The Sheik, Jimmy will often use the weapon to carve up and torture his competition, often leaving them bloodied and beaten, wearing the good old “Crimson Mask.”

Jimmy’s brutal tactics introduce elements of bloodlust, sadism, savagery, and kinkiness, everything necessary to get the crowd off.  The men at ringside often forget their humanity and start howling like dogs as soon as he pulls that big spike out of his boot.

Jimmy Jacobs isn’t the biggest, most muscular athlete, so he needs some plausible tool to explain how he is able to dominate and destroy much larger men.  A railroad spike or a sharp screwdriver is his Equalizer — the device that gives Jimmy his power over other, stronger men.

Because of his effeminate appearance (enhanced with painted fingernails, jewelry, and eye make-up), Jacobs has begun calling himself the “Zombie Princess” — “Zombie” because he can’t be easily killed, and “Princess” because of his feminine vibe.

The genius of Jacobs using a spike is that it is a phallic symbol — a prosthetic cock that the “princess” can use to co-opt masculinity and dominate other man.

Jacobs uses the spike to create a perverted, kinky, homo-erotic vibe — to sexualize the match and the brutality he is inflicting.  I think his use of weapons is even more arousing and suggestive than the Original Sheik, Kevin Sullivan, and any other Old School lunatic.

He holds the heavy spike firmly but not too tight as if he’s handling a dick.  He points it upright and erect.  He grips the tool in his teeth like a dog with a bone.  He jabs it rapidly and repeatedly into his victim’s forehead like a skull-fuck.

Jacobs also has mastered that crazy, sexy lunatic vibe that the Wild Man wrestlers have used for decades to enhance the excitement of their matches.

For example, Jacobs will fetishize his opponent’s blood, acting dizzy and excited when the other man starts to bleed.  He may lick his opponent’s wound, or paint his chest with the other man’s blood, which inspires the fans to chant: “You sick fuck!  YOU SICK FUCK!”  Maybe there is something wrong with me, but even seeing Jimmy hold his big dangerous spike threateningly near the other man’s face does it for me…
