Only Good War is a Matwar!

In my younger years, one of the greatest sources of excitement from watching pro wrestling was seeing a new wrestler — an attractive, exciting new talent I’d never seen before — in action for the first time.  I would just freeze and watch him striding to the ring full of vigor and nervous energy, unzipping his jacket and submitting to the ref’s inspection of his body and gear.

I would suddenly want to know everything about him in about the first five seconds.  Wow — who is he?  Why have I never seen him before?  What kinds of moves can he do?  Will he be in the ring again next week?  And the week after that?  I guess new toys are always more fun to play with than the old toys we’re already familiar with, so that first glimpse often feels like love at first sight.

So now fast forward to 2013.  Today one of my greatest pleasures as a wrestling fan is to stumble upon an excellent wrestling website or blog.  To my delight, a few days ago I discovered the Matwars! Tumblr site. I knew even before the first page-ful of amazing photos had downloaded that I was already obsessed and I was clicking on “Follow” faster than you can unzip your trousers.

All of the images posted here today are from the Matwars Tumblr — just a small sample of images that really made me squirm.  You can tell right away that the dude who gathered and posted these shots — Jake Slammer (hot nickname) really “gets it.”  He understands the eroticism and powerful beauty of the holds, the bodies, the gear, the facial expressions.

And as if the photos aren’t inspiring enough, the blogger also writes provocative, enticing little captions under each photo (a wrestling blogger after my own heart!)  I’ve pasted his actual comments under these photos so you can get a taste of how he writes.  He uses that manly, aggressive tone with plenty of bad words to really inspire some dirty thoughts.

So I scrolled back and scrolled back, scanning through the Matwars archives full of cock-stiffening wrestle-porn to find the very first posting.  (Hey, it’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it!)   I finally found the headwaters — the absolute first Matwars image — which was only a week old so we haven’t missed much.

Now I just need to avoid the curse — the tendency for great websites or image sources to vanish into thin air after I mention them in this blog.  It’s like when you see that handsome new Baby-Face in the ring for the first time and your heart is pounding as you think to yourself:  I sure hope he is back again soon.  I sure hope he isn’t a One Hit Wrestler who is here today and gone tomorrow!

Let’s extend a hearty “Welcome” to the newest pro wrestling blogger on the web — Jake Slammer, host of the Matwars! Tumblr. I enjoy your work, man, keep it up.  If it takes one to know one, I can say for certain that you really get off on this wrasslin’ stuff.

Other wrestling lovers have told me for years that, when they read my Blog, it’s like I’m inside their heads, writing what they’re thinking.  Well, Mr. Slammer, you and I might be sharing a brain, because what you enjoy, I enjoy.  And it’s such a pleasure for me to be able to kick back, relax, and soak in the great images and provocative comments created by a fellow fan of this great sport who had the balls to put himself out there and write about why he loves it.  Thanks!
