SLT: White Boots

When I posted an article on All The Small Things — the barely noticeable but highly enticing little “grace notes” that spice up a pro wrestling match — I invited readers to share their favorite Subtle Little Things.  A reader named Drew Russell mentioned: “White boots, the taller the better (especially when locked together applying a scissor hold).

Yes!  What is it about a wrestler’s white pro boots, clean and bright as snow, that draws our eyes to his every step, kick, and jump?  I have always loved the white boots — and as Mr. Russell said, the taller the better.

The clean white boot is the footwear of the Superhero, or the good cowboy, or an angel.  There is an implication of purity, of innocence, when even the boot has not a speck of mud or filth on it.  And when the boot rises all the way up to the calf muscle where it stretches wider, almost up to the knee, well that is just sexy.

I really sit up and take notice when a wrestler pairs his white boots with some bright white trunks.  Does he realize, when he dresses like that, that he is just driving some of us crazy?!

I think much of my attraction to the white trunks and boots look goes back to the underclothes of my youth.  Where I grew up, most every guy wore white briefs (“whitey tighties”) and often white athletic socks unless he had to get dressed up for work or a wedding or something.  So the sight of a man in white trunks and boots is very reminiscent of a man in white briefs and socks — an undressed man well on his way to being fully naked.

I can even recall from my teenage years standing in front of the mirror in my white underwear and socks trying to resemble my favorite Baby Face wrestlers — the socks pulled up high on my leg like a pair of pro boots.  I especially enjoyed this when the socks were new and pristine.  Did anyone else play dress-up like this, or was I just a gear freak?

I normally prefer a wrestler to wear skimpy speedo-style trunks instead of long tights, but I will make an exception for white tights with white boots.  What a beautiful look!  I still remember my stunned reaction to Marcus Bagwell in his rookie years, waking me up on a Saturday morning in his superhero boots and tights, his bare, tan torso bursting out of that white spandex.

There was a cheesy (but erotic) pro wrestling film in the 1970’s called “Mad Bull” where the villain of the film (who was actually a popular Baby-Face and fan favorite) wore long white tights and tall white boots.

For years, I couldn’t make it through the final Cage Match in this movie and his white gear was 90% of the reason why!  You can now view the entire “Mad Bull” movie on YouTube, or just check out the climactic and oh so arousing Cage Match.

White boots are titillating enough when worn in the ring but (as mentioned by Mr. Russell) are even more exciting to look at when locked together in the application of a scissors.  The boots make contact with each other and entwine around one another like a pair of lovers, the feet hooked together so that their clamp is unbreakable.

The scissorhold is where the boots become imbued, in our thoughts and fantasies, with real power because they’re applying pressure, they’re being used to inflict damage.  A tall shiny pair of boots has the potential to inflict pain, but seeing them crossed together in a lock and actually pouring on the pressure makes their mojo real and effective. And a good cameraman will bless us with a close-up view of those punishing white boots.

So thanks for mentioning White Boots as one of your Subtle Little Things — I can relate because I get off on them too (and apparently so does the artist who created this Poser image…)  I am still looking for more of your Subtle Little Things for future galleries — they don’t have to be boot or gear related.  Leave me a comment giving more great ideas like this.  Thanks!

Love it! And thanks for reminding me about Mad Bull. I’d forgot all about it.
