SLT: Exactly Matching Outfits

When I asked the readers of this blog to share the “Subtle Little Things” about pro wrestling that drive them wild, one guy mentioned:

“Tag matches: Exactly matching outfits on the babyfaces.”

YES — ME TOO!   I confess I prefer seeing my Tag Teams as mirror images too.  Why is that?  Does the fact that they took the time to pick out matching costumes and dress alike make them seem more like a married couple?  Does it add to the possibility that they’re lovers?

Psychologists believe all people (even heterosexuals) have a craving for a “Double” built into their brains — a longing to have someone of the same sex just like oneself to act as a loving companion.  The sight of Tag Team partners who look identical and dress in matching outfits is an expression of the happiness and fulfillment that comes from meeting one’s same-sex soul-mate.  These Tag Team partners have each other (as expressed in their identical clothing), and that’s a beautiful thing.
