I used to love it when a wrestler had both his arms tangled in the ropes, leaving his face and belly and crotch wide open and helpless. So damn kinky and vulnerable. Then the dominant wrestler would just torture him, kicking his face or driving his shoulder up the gut like a tackling dummy. The poor victim was utterly defenseless.
It was so vicious and merciless, and I suppose that was what made it a turn-on. I mean, what other sport does that?? It would be like tangling the goalies’ wrists in the net before shooting the puck at him, or clotheslining the wide receiver with the First Down chain as he is looking back to catch the ball.
In the big mainstream federations, you don’t often see the old Help-My-Arms-Are-Caught-In-The-Ropes gimmick any more. Small Indy promotions are keeping this old bondage tradition alive, as they preserve most of the tropes and tricks from the Golden Age of Wrasslin.
Maybe it is considered too fake and unrealistic for a man to be caught like this so often, unable to get free or for the ref to protect him. Or maybe it seems too homo-erotic for one man to have another in bondage, the two men acting out a kinky transfer of power between them.
