“Can You ID This Wrestler?”

It is the sort of question I get often here at the Wrestling Arsenal, especially after a really hot episode of Suffering Sunday:

Can you help me ID a wrestler?  He was featured in two photos entitled ‘beardScream’ (see above…) on the 16th in the ‘Suffering Sunday‘ section.  He has that cross tat on his right upper arm.

The reader who asked me this question then sent a few more photos of the same mystery man, such as the one to the left of him lifting his opponent, hoping this would help me put a name with a Face.

Unfortunately, my answer to this question nine times out of ten is “Sorry.  No — I have no idea who that stud is you’re asking about.

I realize I should be more organized — more diligent about cataloging each wrestler’s   name, where I found the original image, and which federation(s) he wrestles for.  I suppose I should fill out a little database form each time I save an image for future use on this Blog.  But sadly for you, I am not organized like that and nobody is paying me to work that hard, so you are stuck having to ask “Who is this?” and “Who is that?” each time another mystery man pitches a tent in your trousers.  I do feel bad though — I know how frustrating it feels when you want to know more about the object of your pro wrestling desire.

As a general rule, I put the name of a wrestler in the caption, or in the name of the JPEG file, or in the body of the article if I know who he is (unless he is obviously very famous and recognizable like Cody or Randy or CM).

If you don’t find any name associated with an image, then odds are I have no idea who he is.  He is just another random trophy buck I hunted or gathered in my quest for good wrestling photos.  Maybe there was no name provided at the source location where I found the image, or maybe I was too lazy to document it at the time.  If you’re dieing to know the identity of some random wrestler appearing on this Blog, your best bet is to leave a comment after the article asking your fellow wrestling lovers to name him if they know him.

But isn’t it really more fun and interesting to hunt around the Web to try to uncover the identity of a mystery man?  Isn’t this hot pursuit part of the excitement?  And who knows what incredible discoveries you’ll make along the way in your quest to learn more about a particular wrestler…

Luckily for my curious reader, he was able to somehow figure it out for himself.  He told me in a follow up e-mail the identity of the wrestler he was so interested in.  That’s good because I am almost no help at all in these situations.

I do regret my constant inability to answer the age old question: “Can you ID this wrestler?”  I realize the most frustrating thing about my Blog is seeing this flowing river of great looking talent with no way to dive in and really immerse yourself.

So to make up for my lack of organization and poor clerical skills, I gathered more images of the mystery wrestler the reader identified for himself.  Hopefully this will somehow atone for the many times I was unable to offer a name.

When he finally identified this wrestler in an e-mail to me, my reader then asked the question that wrestling addicts have been asking themselves for decades:

“Why do I get off so much seeing my favs suffer?  There’s something downright erotic about the whole thing.”

Sorry — once again, I have no quick answer to your question.  This is the very question I’ve been trying to answer for years in this Blog!   For this article, I did focus on images of your fav getting beaten and pinned since you mentioned that you find this downright erotic.  Enjoy!

P.S. It can be so frustrating to try to find out who someone is sometimes, but SO SATISFYING when you’re able to do it!
