In yesterday’s blog entry, I shared part of an e-mail I received from a reader who recommended that Ball Busting (including the old Crotchclaw) should be legalized. Actually, there was more to his e-mail which inspired today’s posting. He shared a link to a six-man tag team match featuring six of the woofiest, most talented studs that have ever wrestled for TNA: AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Chris Sabin vs. Roderick Strong, Austin Aries, and Alex Shelley. Whew, let me catch my breath, I’m feeling dizzy!
The reason my loyal reader enjoyed this match and sent me the link is apparent at 1:20 into the video when Shelley suddenly reaches down and grabs Sabin’s testicles!
Here is how my reader described this unusually explicit homo-erotic scene:
“There are a few common ways to legally wreck a guy’s nuts in a wrestling match, like an inverted atomic drop or making him straddle the turnbuckle, but the straight up crotchclaw is one I hardly ever see. Is this seriously legal?!?! Well, thankfully the ref in this match seems to think so!
Alex Shelley takes a big ol’ fistful of Chris Sabin’s junk right in the center of the ring in front of everyone, and Sabin is immediately powerless to mount any sort of counteroffensive. Sabin’s hands just rest ineffectually on Shelley’s shoulder and hand, when common sense would say he should be punching the dick grabbing his dick.”
“Alas, Sabin’s family jewels appear to be the source of his strength! Shelley hangs on for nearly 10 whole seconds, pulling Sabin back to his corner like a dog on a leash. He even uses his free hand to tag in his partner Roderick Strong so he can get in a free chop on the totally emasculated Sabin.”
This reader definitely “gets” pro wrestling and the excitement of the power dynamics between the men in the ring. He picked up on the sexy helplessness of Sabin, his strength drained as he is led around by the dick “like a dog on leash.”
My astute reader also commented on the future partnership — an intensely affectionate relationship — that will form between Sabin and the man who grabbed his junk during this match:
“This kind of maneuver between any two young, good-looking, scantily-clad wrestlers would get me hot and bothered but I feel like this moment is heightened by the knowledge that the two dudes involved would later become a successful tag team who were, as you yourself put it, ‘downright unapologetic and unashamed about their homosocial bond’.
Seeing guys with that kind of relationship basically getting to second base in the middle of a match is unbelievably hot to me!”
Shelley’s infamous Crotchclaw was not the only aspect of this match that caught my reader’s eye. He goes on to point out other scenes that made him forget the fact that he usually doesn’t get off on 6-man matches:
“The rest of this match is great too. To me all six men involved are pretty damn sexy (including the kinda dilfy Christopher Daniels) and the action is fast-paced and well-executed.
My other personal favorite moments include: Shelley reverse-skullfucking AJ Styles at 3:04 (seriously, who does that?!)…”
“Austin Aries grabbing at Styles’ trunks at 4:46, Strong yanking up Sabin’s trunks at 6:49…”
“and of course Shelley’s 69 pin on Sabin to finish the match at 6:57.”
“Normally 6-man tag matches are too chaotic for me and I find myself just waiting for my favorite guy or two to get his turn in the ring, but this match holds my undivided attention for the duration because of the six studs involved and the level of performance they all bring to the table.
To me Shelley is the star here, and this match alone has given him a special place in my perverted heart forever.”
