Here are some random images with random thoughts gathered during my vacation that reminded me of why I enjoy pro wrestling and wanted to keep Blogging about it.
The Arms-Over-Top-Rope pose is often used by a popular Baby-Face like Joel Redman here to emphasize his vulnerability. I love it when they do that with their arms!
Before the match, he may over-hook his arms to stretch out his muscles and test the bounciness of the ropes. During the match, arms hooked over the top rope signifies helplessness, as if he is bound and can’t defend his body. Seeing that willing submissiveness, that self-imposed entrapment, is like a narcotic for me.
Here is another common Baby-Face pose that always catches my attention — the old Back-Cracker into the sharp edge of the ring.
The twisted pose of agony is what makes this move a “Must See” for me. The jobbers are apparently taught to over-sell the pain when their lower back impacts the edge of the ring with muscles flexed and body arched invitingly.
David Starr’s popularity swelled during the months I’ve been away, and that’s GREAT! I dig his frame, I dig his gear, and I especially dig when he positions his crotch near a seated opponent’s face and thrusts his hips to Tea Bag the dude. This move scores a perfect 6.0 on the Kinsey scale.
He calls this naughty move “Look At It” which is also his catch phrase. But it seems he wants his opponent to do more than simply Look At It when he gets frisky like this.
I could’ve sworn I had already seen every publicity photo of the muscular Young Stallions years ago. After all, I’ve been gushing over them since June 2002 when I created Gallery #126 in my original website, followed by #388, #630, #631, and #736. (Can you say, Obsessed?)
So I was pleased to find this never-before-seen gem somewhere in the Blogosphere featuring the Stallions wearing cute smiles and tight red shirts, their huge guns on proud display as they turn diagonal to the camera. Watching them flex and pose is almost as fun as watching them suffer a beating. Almost.
What more can I say about this Masterpiece? Every little element adds to the quality: the tall black boots, the yellow stripe running down the Heel team’s matching leggings, the jobber’s Dick-on-Display torture pose, the blue speedo…
Am I the only wrestling fan who sees a photo like this and thinks, “Wow — let me pause and stare at this for a while!” I guess beauty is in the eye of the Blogger.
Joel Redman: When a dude traps his arms and stretches in the ropes like that before a match, he’s really just telegraphing the abuses are going to come. Or teasing us into hoping for it. Or saying “you might try to do this to me, but I’m ready!”
Dave Starr: center ring humiliation is always a good move.
Young Stallions: “HIS pecs are the ones to beat up on.” “No, HIS pecs are the ones to beat up on!” Many a tag team sampled both, which is why they are legends.
Bubblegum card: It used to seem weird that I would see something so “innocent” and get a boner from it. Then I found out tons of guys out there were into it too. Then it made me wonder if it was intended to be so “innocent” after all. But that would spoil the fun, huh?
