Out With The Old: Chain Matches

In honor of yesterday’s kinky three-way Bull Terrier match, I decided to post some images of classic Chain Matches that have been building up on my hard-drive.

These are those rare and oh so homo-erotic matches where two dudes strap dog collars around their necks, chain themselves together, and get Sadistic and Masochistic all over each other.

Usually this level of violence and brutality is reserved for those special occasions where they needed to “settle” a long-running feud.  But sometimes they would book a Chain Match just because the fans get off on it.

The blond wrestler has the look of a Baby-Face but the attitude of a Heel.  He wears powder blue trunks and boots, the sure sign of a prancing pretty-boy.  He keeps his body tan and smooth and his hair dyed platinum blond.

Yet once the chains are clipped onto their necks, he is all sadistic Bad-Ass, as the bloodied rookie has come to realize.

This image is not technically a Chain Match because they don’t have the chain connecting their necks.  Instead, Bulldog Don Kent is preparing to “smash Lewin bloody.”

Mark Lewin looks so young and cute in this photo, it almost seems a shame to ugly him up with that illegal chain!

While we’re on the subject of Bulldog Don Kent, here we see him voluntarily wearing a dog collar as a fashion statement.  The caption indicates that the Bulldog has used his kinky collar to “abuse” his opponents. I also seem to recall him barking in the ring, and reacting angrily when men in the crowd barked at him.

It all seems so campy and kinky and erotic — is it any wonder that many young men who grew up watching these bizarre antics have continued to love and obsess over pro wrestling?

And as long as we’re blogging about chain chokes, here are some great animations that recently appeared on the always-entertaining He Is Out blog

Poor Robbie can't breathe!

Why the hell is the ref allowing this blatant strangulation??
