Feud of the Year, Part 3 of 3

As mentioned in Part 1 and Part 2 of this series, the hyper-masculine Silas Young claims to be disgusted by flamboyant Dalton Castle and his male sex slaves known as The Boyz.   Young and Castle squared off at Ring of Honor’s All Star Extravaganza VII on 9/18/15 which you can order from ROHWrestling.com.

To prove he is a true Real Man — to differentiate himself from sissies like Castle — Young oiled up his hairy chest and donned his tightest, bulgiest little wrestling trunks.  (For the “Last Real Man” in pro wrestling, he sure seems to enjoy showing off his body and getting us to look at him and lust after him…)

Castle and his Boyz then made their campy, spectacular entrance with Dalton spreading his golden butterfly wings as the enthusiastic audience showered them with a rainbow of streamers.  It is very obvious, and very interesting, that the male audience has embraced this poof as a hero, wishing him success and a gleeful life with his beloved Boyz.

Castle's neck is broken across Young's knee brace

Silas Young uses aggressive, vicious tactics to gain the advantage over the vulnerable Dalton Castle.  For example, here he yanks his opponent off the ring apron, cracking his spine across a bent knee.

The stakes in this match are sky high because if Young wins, he gains ownership of the Boyz.  If Castle wins, then Young must become a Boy himself, presumably forced to obey his new Master’s every wish.  This scenario begs the question:  why would Young, a self-proclaimed “Real Man,” agree to include himself in the sex slave trade, even putting his own ass on the line?  His willingness makes him suspect.

Young has learned in previous fights that Castle will always run in to save his Boyz, so one tactic that the cunning “Real Man” uses is to chase after the Boyz as if he’s going to hurt them.  When Castle lets his guard down and rushes over to help the Boys, POW, right in the kisser!

Later Castle manages to fight back, here securing a tight Bearhug around Young’s waist.  One gets the sense that Castle may be using this hold to show Young what will happen if he loses and becomes a Boy himself.  Castle is perhaps letting Young know that they will be doing a lot of hugging like this if Young in fact becomes a slave and must submit himself to Castle’s desires.

If you think about it, these wrestlers have really created a sexy, arousing dungeon world for the fans to fantasize about — a world where men get to own other men and use them for their kinky pleasure.  Apparently in this world, if you can out-wrestle a man then he must become your slave, allowing you to use and abuse him however you wish.

The whole scenario is fraught with  homo-erotic overtones and gay male sex fantasy, so it’s not subject matter we normally would see in a mainstream wrestling ring.  But these wrestlers have decided to go there, and the potential humiliation of “Real Man” Silas Young is really fun to consider.  I mean, just picture what Castle might do to him!

Young tries to put Castle away with his devastating "Killer Combo"

Young is fighting rough in this bout, really manhandling the fan-favorite.  Here he implements his sweet looking Killer Combo, cracking his victim across a knee, then leveling him with a stiff Forearm Smash.

We get the sense that Young is taking this match especially seriously because of the high stakes involved.  We figure he is desperate to protect his manhood, to avoid the humiliation of becoming a sex slave to Castle.  We also get the sense he is aroused by the delicious possibility of getting to take the Boyz home and own them.

Traditionally, a male pro wrestling fan would prohibit  himself from cheering for a swishy, flamboyant wrestler like a Gorgeous George, Bobby Barnes, or Adrian Adonis.  The hetero-sexual male goes to great pains to avoid even a hint of gayity in his persona, and allowing yourself to cheer for a prancing nancy could send the message that you’re into sissy-boys, that you’re perhaps a bit light in the loafers yourself.  It is safer to jeer, mock, or spit upon the really sissified homo wrestlers to reassure your buddies that you’re just one of the boys.

But with Dalton Castle, the dudes at ringside can’t help themselves.  They’re head over heels for him, rowdily cheering his twinkle-toe antics.  Some of the boys are even wearing feathered masks to the arena, perhaps hoping that Castle will recruit them.

Even a manly hetero-sexual wrestler couldn't survive this move

When Castle grabs him from behind, Young is able to swing one leg back, slamming his hamstring up into Castle’s balls.  The ref was of course distracted and missed seeing this illegal assault on Castle’s manhood.

Being stunned and ball-busted, Castle has no defense as he is hoisted up across Young’s shoulders and spun in circles.   Young’s devastating “Misery” finisher leaves Castle utterly helpless and ripe for the pin.

Young covers his opponent, the ref counts to three, and Castle is defeated.  Note that the “Real Man” had to cheat to win against the flamboyant sissy.  He had to resort to a crotch shot, a real bitch move, in order to strip Castle of his manhood and assume the dominant position.

And now Young gets to take home those Boyz, to use them however he wishes.  Seeing that Young is very aggressive and rough, we really feel sorry for the skinny, vulnerable Boyz.  And the humiliated Dalton Castle now loses his beloved playthings, the very source of his pleasure.

And the scene closes with big bully Young shoving his simpering Boyz back toward the locker room, and the Boyz reluctantly obeying him.  It appears he is going to give them a really rough spanking.

I’m sure many fans in the audience are now speculating on exactly what Young is going to do to turn these Boyz into Real Men — and wishing they could watch the whole pornographic scene unfold.

Character Art on current Legends packaging …

Hiya Arsenal, I’ve found your analysis of this arc to be very interesting … I’ve been intrigued (ok, “turned on”) by the Silas Young character since I first saw him in the RoH ring against Adam Page a couple of years ago …

I was surprised when RoH rolled out the Dalton Castle character and became a bit astonished when he became a fan favorite. I’m sure you’ve seen the “Straight” makeover of the BoyZ by now … very “Village People” …

I’d like to see the BoyZ in the ring as jobbers or heels themselves!
