A Facebook page that I follow recently “Liked” this British Tag Team and now I like them too. Like, I like them, like them. They call themselves the “Filthy Rotten Scoundrels“, and you can check them out on Facebook which is where I stole most of today’s images from.
Their team name — Filthy Rotten Scoundrels — blatantly reveals that they’re cheating villains which they actually boast about! Based on their name, you know they’ll do whatever it takes to hurt you and defeat you in the ring. This is similar to Aries and Roode calling themselves the “Dirty Heels” which they had printed on their matching tank tops. I love their in-our-faces arrogance which I blogged about recently.
Dave DelVecchio is the taller and perhaps prettier of the Scoundrels. He grows that beard stubble to let you know he won’t follow rules and you can tell his chest would be nice and manly if he felt like growing it out. He sports a lean, streamlined physique which makes it even hotter when he dominates over some big powerful muscleman or huge fat Baby-Face.
I like this guy’s look and I like his pro gear. He portrays one of those cocky but consistent winners who counts on his teammate to put him in the driver’s seat, then he takes it from there, relishing his position of control and power. After his partner puts their opponent in a helpless state, this scoundrel tags in and struts around flexing his biceps as if HE was the stud who asserted dominance over the now helpless man.
Marc Morgan is the powerhouse of the team, stockier and sturdier, perhaps less showy, but certainly just as arrogant, filthy, rotten, and willing to cheat as his partner. Morgan is just more brutal.
Just based on these few photos I swiped from their Facebook page, his specialty seems to be these really arrogant pins that make you want to despise him and worship him all at once.
So I don’t know much more about these Filthy Rotten Scoundrels other than they wrestle in England, they look terrific in matching pro gear, and they apparently live up to their team name by cheating all the time. For example, check out Morgan stepping that big black jackboot on some chump’s throat while the ref is busy playing grab-ass with DelVecchio.
Oh — I also know a little about that two-finger salute image pasted over the crotch of their trunks. In Britain, they call it “flicking the V’s” when you stick up your first two fingers in a peace symbol but turn it around backwards so the peace is facing toward yourself. It is meant to be an insulting, profane sign of disrespect, like flipping the bird. The Filthy Rotten Scoundrels make this crude gesture all the time toward their opponents and the fans to get them all riled up.
The Scoundrels stir up the audience with their gay, cowardly Save Me gimmick, one teammate embracing the other around the waist for protection.
I’m sure this pose inspires plenty of catcalls and whistles from the filthy-minded audience, and causes them to wonder if these Scoundrels every get filthy back in their hotel room.
If there is one way for a Heel team to earn a place in my heart, it’s to cheat blatantly and relentlessly, breaking the rules whether the ref is paying attention or not.
Just in the few images in this gallery, we see the Scoundrels employing the dreaded Eye Drag across the top rope, some vicious two-on-one moves, strangulation behind the ref’s back, outside interference, all that naughty, rotten bullshit. You’re kind of required to cheat without mercy if you call yourself “filthy rotten scoundrels,” which is why their team name is a turn-on.
I like what I see so far — I sure hope to find some good videos of these Scoundrels in action, hopefully chock full of that illegal two-on-one cruelty that really trips my triggers. Hopefully they stay together and stay arrogant and scoundrelly for years to come.
