AJ Styles joined the WWE (finally!) last month and immediately caught the eye of veteran superstar Chris Jericho, who came out of semi-retirement to feud, flirt, and fuck with the newbie and generally put him over.
Jericho has portrayed the aggressive, dickish bully out to haze the new guy and harboring a boner for Styles apparently from the first time they met. Styles is working the innocent victim gimmick, really getting over with the Face lovers in the audience.
Get back over here and lemme see those pretty eyes!
One strategy they’ve used to crank up the heat in their relationship has been these intense, face to face, look-me-in-the-eye stare downs, where they breathe on each other and you’re not sure whether they want to fight or fuck. Check out AJ turning to walk away from Jericho, and Jericho snatching him back to get right in his face.

Some believe Styles is a homophobe, maybe because he’s called other wrestlers the “F” word (I don’t mean “fucker”) in some of his past Heel rants. Whatever his personal attitudes or religious beliefs, he sure seems to grasp that homo-erotic undertones sure sell in pro wrestling, as he leans in closer to put his scruffy beard just millimeters from Jericho’s rakish six-o’clock shadow.

So they’ve wrestled just once so far, and the rookie upset the more senior veteran. Jericho willingly put the kid over by licking up every ounce of offense Styles felt like unleashing.
Damn does my boy Styles look fierce and dominant as he levels his opponent with these flying Punches and Elbows!

Obviously they’re building heat for what I’m hoping will be a long, nasty, passionate feud. I’d love to see these two face off more times than Steamboat got it on with Flair! Nothing is more sexy than a wrestling feud.
So the two frenemies are booked to square off tonight on Smackdown. I usually don’t get all excited for a match any more like I did as a youngster (when I’d hear two guys were going to battle the next week, and I’d keep thinking about it, fantasizing about all the cruel abuse the baddie was going to inflict), but this one has me very eager — so their flirtatious, homo-erotic antics have done the trick.
Rumors are that Jericho is going to turn Full Heel tonight, really punishing and emasculating the innocent rookie to ensure Styles wins our hearts. Brace yourself to fall in love with AJ tonight as Jericho locks on his deadly Boston Crab variation and makes the poor cutie slap the mat and start to cry for mercy. I can hardly wait!
