Back in February, I wrote about a Tag Team beat-down inflicted by the dominant members of Cold Cold World on the cute little guys in matching tights — Los Primos Riveras. Man it was brutal, and the smaller team walked off stage rather than suffering more abuse and inevitably losing.
On the 4/12/16 episode of Championship Wrestling From Hollywood (available for a small donation via Patreon.com), the Riveras want a re-match. However, only one member of Cold Cold World enters the ring, with Grundy apparently off injured or maybe locked up for beating somebody’s ass. But Will Rood feels confident he can handle these two chumps by himself.
Los Riveras are like a pair of high velocity weed-whackers, just pummeling the bigger, slower brute. They cleverly take out his knee to bring him down, where he has zero defense against their relentless kicks to his skull and body.
These little fuckers are out for revenge, and poor Rood is all alone and helpless.
The shift in power is evident (and kind of intoxicating.) In their former encounter, Rood was the overlord, he and his partner easily mastering the smaller Riveras. But now the tables are turned, and the same cruelty and overly aggressive violence that Cold Cold World had inflicted on the smaller guys is now unleashed on the out-matched Will Rood.
The Riveras revel in their power position, strutting around in their sexy red tights and pulling cocky shenanigans and double-team bullshit whenever the ref is distracted.
That white gear on Will Rood is a perfect selection, especially now that he is portraying the Face-in-Peril, innocently entering the ring expecting a fair fight, only to be out-smarted and totally dominated by the sadistic little Heels.
This scene feels like the classic Revenge of the Nerds story: the bully isolated from his pack of buddies by the angry little victims, who exact their revenge on the suddenly powerless coward.
Only we soon see that the former victims, now holding all the power, prove to be more cruel and brutal than the bully had acted toward them previously.
I figured Rood would eventually come back and win, right? That’s the usual outcome in a two-on-one match — justice is eventually served, right?
Yes, Rood makes a brief recovery late in the match, throwing his little tormentors around like ragdolls. But they out-smart him and win the match! I love it — what an extreme shift in power between these enemies.
Oh that is a hot camera shot — great job by the cameramen. We see Rood’s destroyed body in the background, his legs parted, his bulging white trunks on display like an invitation.
In the foreground, the bloodthirsty victor, savoring his win and feeling his oats. He leers into the camera with a threatening expression, like maybe he wants to punish us next.
I suspect we haven’t seen the last of this feud. Cold Cold World are not going to scurry away with their tails tucked between their legs. When Grundy gets back, they’re going to humble these little show-offs — but first, I hope we get to see six or eight more two-on-one matches with Los Riveras dominating the action and acting macho and arrogant the entire time.
