King Doll

I continue to obsess over the prolific YouTube channel called “My Wrestling Obsession.”  Every day brings more treasures — short clips, full matches, well-edited torture scenes.  The guy has great taste in wrestlers and apparently an amazing collection he’s been building for years — I’m so glad he is sharing.

On 4/18, he posted a classic full-length Tag Team match featuring these pretty boys in white with zebra stripes — the Southern Rockers, Steve Doll and Rex King.

Many wrestling federations back in the 80’s traded in on the sex appeal of Rock N Roll by featured a heroic, long-haired team of high-flying Rockers such as the Rock N Roll Express, the Midnight Rockers, etc.   The Southern Rockers are a (pretty delicious) variation on that theme.

Their opponents are the Tennessee Stud Stable — Lee and Fuller, big lusty brutal Real Men who really know how to entertain when they rassle.  The commentator seems to talk about Lee a lot to stir up our interest in the big blond stud:  “Big Brian Lee — one of the Tennessee Studs“;  “Not afraid to break rules, not afraid to make enemies“; and “Brian Lee — the big blond with the black tights.”

If you saw this match posted to My Wrestling Obsession, you probably sensed that I’d be featuring it here on Wrestling Arsenal, knowing my obsession with book-end Baby teams in matching white gear.  And by the way, I remember Rex King, but I sure don’t remember him looking this ripped and abs-tastic.  (I dig his name too — “Rex” means “king” in Latin, so he is “King King”.  We get it dude, you’re the king.)

The Good Guys in their whitey-tighties dominate for the first several minutes, for example repeatedly Belly-Flopping on the comically helpless Heels.

Time for a commercial break…

I’m sure glad My Wrestling Obsession decided to keep this shampoo commercial in the video, reminding us of the days before we could Fast Forward back to the show.

At least Pert gave us a sexy parade of shirtless dudes in a locker room in various states of undress.  So for once you didn’t even have to stop strokin it while waiting for wrestling to resume.

Back from commercial and King King is playing Face-in-Peril.  The Studs are tagging in and out, taking their turns and passing their toy back and forth like a dumb-bell at the gym.

They also pull his hair a LOT, but if your opponent had long, pretty Rocker hair like that, wouldn’t you be pulling it??

Here is the rousing description of this match posted on My Wrestling Obsession:

“WHITE TRUNKS! INCREDIBLE BEAR HUG! Four of the hottest in one match, I remember my mouth being wide open when I found this match.

Wait till you see Doll and King taking turns pouncing on their hunky heel opps!   WATCH THE PERT COMMERCIAL! HOLY HOT SHAMPOO!  

After the commercials watch Rex take a spread eagle gut stomp! WATCH BRIAN LEE’S HANDS AS HE SETS UP REX FOR HIS OVER THE SHOULDER RACK!!!! Seriously hot match, you will love!”   (You’re right, me love.)

Here is the “INCREDIBLE BEAR HUG!” mentioned in the description above.  Big daddy Fuller embraces skinny King in his arms and goes to town, grinding away like a true Stud.  As you can see, King sexes it up with lots of hair tossing and O-Facing.

If I have one complaint about this Bearhug, it’s that it wasn’t long enough.  But even 15 minutes wouldn’t be long enough for me, so at least modern technology allows us to watch it over and over again, and prolong it as long as we need.

Not to be out-shined, Lee tags in and Powerslams the rock out of the Rocker.  One enjoyable aspect of this match is the frequent views of Steve Doll, waiting in the far corner all eager and useless in his pure white gear, but forced to watch like the rest of us while his partner is destroyed.

“Doll” is a perfect name for a wrestling jobber, which was Steve’s roll for most of his career.  The term “doll” implies that he’s pretty — and that his opponents are gonna play with him which they generally did.

I won’t bore you with details of the finish: Doll eventually tagged in and the Rockers win due to their cleverness and high flying.

My interest was primarily on the pain inflicted on poor helpless Rex King in his little white trunks, and Lee reaching between his legs to grip his ass or crotch.

These Heels were seasoned veterans who clearly understand ring psychology and the tactics that would rile up the audience.  No wonder the dude from My Wrestling Obsession is so obsessed.
