Revival

DnD1DnD2Last week, I wrote about the hot Tag Team action being presented lately on NXT (available on WWE Network), including a post-match assault by the Revival on the neon green Hype Bros.  The May 5th episode of NXT continued the budding feud between these teams by granting the Bros a grudge match against the bullies in black.

When the Bros enter the ring, Zack strikes some breath-taking poses and we see that he is pumped up for this match.  The Revival then enact their usual pre-match bearhug to demonstrate their intimate cohesion and get at least this wrestling fan’s juices flowing.

D&D3I was swooning a little when I saw these teams enter the ring because I knew, I just knew, Zack would play Face-in-Peril for us and eat all sorts of madcap abuse from the Revival (which is a shot of pure aphrodisiac for a wrestling lover like me.)

Zack is what I call an unselfish wrestler, willing to degrade and expose himself in all sorts of sexy ways for the viewing pleasure of the fans.  I appreciate that.

DnD5DnD4I have made this allegation before, but I swear the NXT writers are reading my Blog. (Hi guys!)   When I mention something I enjoyed or something I want to see more of, it often appears in the very next episode.  For example, last week I mentioned my attraction to Rawley’s spectacular green boots — now they’ve got Zack wearing a matching pair and I can’t take my eyes off them/him.

I commented on the pre-match embrace between Dash and Dawson, and they did not forget to repeat it again this week.  I practically begged to see Zack being punished by these brutes, and sure enough, he is serving as their Whipping Boy as  I hoped.

DnD6DnD7Zack does a great job suffering as usual, tossing in fun little grace notes like this suggestive kneeling pose or presenting himself to the camera.  His partner Mojo has become adept at looking concerned and frustrated outside the ropes, since he does this all the time.

And the rough, tough Revival guys are wonderfully relentless and abusive, just as dominant and mean as you would want any dickhead Heels to behave.  Was it predictable that Zack would suffer for these two husky bullies?  Yes, but it is still a big turn-on even if you know it’s coming.

For once, Mojo suffers the Finisher and Pinfall.

For once, Mojo suffers the Finisher and Pinfall.

The end of the match was less predictable when Mojo Rawley — normally the untouchable Alpha Male of his team — bites the dust in the Revival’s patented “Shatter Machine” maneuver and gets pinned.

Normally pretty-boy Zack would be Shattered, so hopefully this shift in dominance within the Hype Bros team signals a revival of Zack’s career prospects.  Maybe Zack is not on the chopping block after all (fingers crossed.)

DnD8For you NXT bookers out there reading my blog, this easy victory by the Revival should not signify the end of their brief feud with the Hype Bros.  These teams have great chemistry and I expect to see much more punishment inflicted on my poor helpless Zack by D & D.  Feel free to amp up the length and brutality of Zack’s punishment.

You can keep Zack in bright neon boots (lose the kick-pads).  You can have Mojo ultimately pinned, so long as Zack remains Face-in-Peril most of the time.  Keep or expand the Revival’s long embrace before the match, and have them hug again after their victory.   Thanks!

I hope you’re right and the NXT folks do read your blog. More Revival dominance and more Zack as face-in-peril are exactly what we need. I hope this isn’t the end of their “feud” as it would be a great summer series to develop a bigger storyline for them.
