The Tale of Dōgan, part 2 of 2

This article continues the Manga comic from a few days ago about a young rookie (with a fantastic physique) trying to make his way in the pro wrestling world.  The artist is MAI who offers many more images created in this style on the Pixiv website.

After just a brief training session, young Dōgan is surprised to be scheduled for a match against a much larger opponent: the sadistic Master Nikuya.  How did the promoters expect him to succeed against such over-whelming odds?

He soon met his opponent, a mysterious masked man known as “Blue Demon.”  Scanning him from across the ring, Dōgan could see the other man’s body was exactly as powerful and defined as Dōgan’s own.  The rookie shuddered when he thought about how it would feel for their muscular bodies to press together and match strength for strength.

He soon discovered how it felt when the bell rang and the Blue Demon secured a punishing Side Headlock, parading the young challenger around the ring like a prize pig at the county fair.  Dōgan began to blush uncontrollably, but couldn’t find the strength to resist.

In hold after painful hold, the Demon continued his lecture, explaining to his captive audience about the profound beauty in suffering and the irresistible sympathy people feel when youth is out-matched and over-powered.

As their hearts beat as one in a long, tight Bearhug, Dōgan grew to trust his mysterious mentor, to relax against him letting their faces rest together as he listened to every word.

Dōgan’s life was changed forever at that moment.  He knew he would do anything this dominant Demon asked of him — he would suffer any pain or public humiliation just for the chance to be in the ring with him.

So it turned into a love story — I’ll bet you didn’t see that coming.  Neither did I really — I must be in a mood.

Don’t most Manga comics involve relationships and romance?
