Back in September 2017, I blogged about a comic book I had come across that told the story of the Killer Bees tag team, focusing on B. Brian Blair’s life story. Wanting to see more of this story (and more comic books about wrestling in general), I subscribed to Squared Circle Comics on Patreon for like $2 per month.
Now, a year and two months later, the second issue in the series was recently issued, focusing on the other Killer Bee — Jumpin’ Jim Brunzell (shown here on the cover smiling adorably and also wiping out some stud in blue trunks with his famous Drop Kick.) Lets zoom in for a closer look at this sexy artwork:
We open the book (or click the PDF I should say) to find this spectacular image of Brunzell facing us, smiling right at us, in his shirtless and bulging glory as if he wants to maybe get physical with me, the reader. In the background, we see a long-haired jobber, also shirtless and ready to wrestle, just waiting patiently for Brunzell to finish with me and then kick his ass.
Also a voluptuous female points her tits in Brunzell’s direction, obviously eager for him to defeat her jobber boyfriend so he can then claim her and fuck her. But Jumpin’ Jim only has eyes for me. This picture is indeed worth 1,000 words.
The artist wisely knows that he needs to get the reader excited and interested right away. So rather than beginning with Brunzell’s childhood, the story begins late in Brunzell’s wrestling career when he defeated the champ, Nick Bockwinkel.
Check out those killer arms on Brunzell as he locks on this beautiful Sleeper Hold. Brunzell’s face is orgasmic as he flexes his guns, while Bockwinkel wears a concerned expression with his huge puppy-dog eyes looking woeful and helpless. Later Brunzell locks on a really nice Figure 4 Headscissor (see below), which tells me that this cartoonist clearly understands pro wrestling, knows the holds, and comprehends which holds are especially erotic and therefore belong in the comic book.
OK, now that we’re turned on by Brunzell’s violent mastery of Nick Bockwinkel, forcing him to “surrender,” the narrative then flashes back to the beginning: Brunzell’s birth in 1949 and childhood. We learn that Brunzell excelled at sports and had played football in college, where one of his teammates was his future Tag Team partner: Greg Gagne whose daddy was a wrestling promoter.
In a rather flirtatious scene (below), Gagne gazes into Brunzell’s eyes and tells him that he is hot enough to become a pro wrestler.
So it’s off to pro wrestling school for our protagonist. We can see below that the training sessions appear very similar to a group orgy scene from a gay porn that features especially muscular models…
After finishing his training, Brunzell is “paired” with another “young, good-looking guy” named Mike George, who serves as Brunzell’s first partner.
This is a common trope in these Squared Circle comics — an older male appearing to marry the young couple. Is this really how wrestling Tag Teams are formed? At the end of the first comic book, we saw Brunzell finally meet B. Brian Blair (his final and most successful partnership) and that, too, was depicted to resemble a wedding scene from a Rom Com.
In 1975, Brunzell would be “paired” with his old college buddy, Greg Gagne, to form the High Flyers, one of the original Baby-Face Young Hot Guy teams which would become an enormously popular gimmick in the 1980s.
Their bodies are drawn to appear hyper-muscular and spectacular, like super-heroes. I don’t recall Brunzell being that buff, and Gagne for damn sure never had a body like THAT!
This artistic license is fine with me though — it makes this comic sexier and more boner-inspiring if all the guys look like He-Man. I think these Squared Circle comics are a total homo-erotic turn-on. I would’ve been absolutely obsessed if these had been published when I was young and super horny for wrestling.
The artist does a great job, throughout the comic, of depicting the thrusting power of Brunzell’s patented Drop-Kick, the move he was most famous for. Here we see Brunzell’s massive leg, protruding from the center of his body like a huge turgid cock.
With his hair unfurling wildly, he drives that dangerous weapon aggressively into his victim, up between the defeated man’s legs all the way up to his chest. The victim’s face is contorted in a climactic expression as Brunzell’s big dick — I mean, Drop Kick — utterly ruins him.
In the below example, we see Brunzell’s body, erect and elongated, attenuated and fully flexed.. His orgasming victim, meanwhile, is angled away, laying back, his legs parted as if he is opening up to accept that penetrating thrust:
Below is another example of the Meet Cute scene, this time with Brunzell gazing excitedly into Bruce Springsteen’s eyes. Bruce wears a pink bandanna around his neck, with his shirt unbuttoned to expose his chest. This implies that the “perks” of meeting up with Springsteen involved more than just a night on the town. With their lips parted, Brunzell almost seems to be going in for a kiss.
The issue ends with another intimate, gaze-into-my-eyes conversation as Terry “Hulk” Hogan (whom Brunzell had met and wrestled with in the AWA) proposes to hook Brunzell up with B. Brian Blair. We saw a similar conversation between Hogan and Blair in the prior issue.
I’m eager for the next issue, I can’t wait to see the Killer Bees in the ring together at last, wearing their matching striped trunks, and drawn to appear super muscular and powerful. I’m keeping up my monthly Patreon support, but I sure hope it won’t be another 14 months until the next Killer Bees issue drops…
