Australia is home to some of the hottest and most talented pro wrestlers that nobody ever heard of. This is partly because Australian pro wrestling consists of small regional promotions (similar to the USA before 1980) instead of one or two huge promotions with and International fanbase. Thanks to the magic of YouTube, we can travel Down Under and watch these hot Aussies in action in the ring, and it is fantastic. I need to start following Aussie Rasslin’ and blogging about it more often! (There is just too much awesome content being created all over the world right now to be able to keep up with all of it!)
I recently watched this hot match between the “Real Wrestler” Gavin McGavin and the “Loose Ledge” Adam Brooks, which was promoted by Riot City Wrestling federation in Adelaide, Australia. Check out Brook’s cool ring vest with the spikey shoulders!
Brooks reminds me of a young Brad Pitt with his sandy blond mop of hair and cute dimples. He is playing the Baby-Face in spectacular trunks.
McGavin seen here flexing his bicep and wearing orange leggings, is 100% Dickhead Heel, all swagger, cowardice, and nasty brutality.
The fans enjoy seeing their hero kick McGavin’s ass early in the match, even ruining his manhood with this ball-buster.
McGavin is leaner than Brooks, but he is also meaner. He will take revenge for this Nut Buster later in the fight when the inevitable Baby-Face Torture begins (I can hardly wait!)
Brooks wears eye-catching trunks, with laces criss-crossing over his bulge to accentuate his manliness.
On the back of his trunks, you’ll find the word “GLOAT” stamped in bold letters. This stands for “Greatest Ledge of All Time“. Why does Brooksy call himself a “Ledge“? I had to search for what the word “Ledge” means in Australian slang, and apparently it’s short for “Legend.” So it’s a big compliment.
Here is where the tide turns, McGavin takes control, Brooks begins to sell, and I feel that sweet tingly feeling in my lower abs.
The nasty Heel performs a fucking Rude Awakening out on the apron (the stiffest part of the ring!) This injures our hero’s lower back, possibly his kidneys.
Brooks then plays the submissive wimp very nicely, eating all of McGavin’s cruel brutality (except for being German Suplexed off the ring apron into the crowd.) The mark of a truly great Baby-Face is his ability to kick ass at the start and finish, and to suffer like a wounded deer that got hit by a truck in the middle of the match, They do it right Down Under.
Gavin McGavin calls himself the “Real Wrestler” to play up his technical prowess in the ring — his ability to really harm other men. This makes it plausible that he can dominate buff studs like our Adam Brooks.
He is willing to fight dirty too, pulling hair for example, which adds credibility to his dominance and makes us pity poor Brooks.
They still perform classic pro wrestling moves in Australia which I love to see and miss very much. Or maybe this is part of the Real Wrestler’s gimmick — that he knows how to apply all the old holds that destroyed many a jobber a half-century ago. Here for example is a well-executed Irish Whip into the corner followed by the prettiest OTK Backbreaker you’ve ever seen.
Speaking of classic wrestling moves, my favorite scene was this beautiful, long-held Body-Scissor applied by McGavin at 13:00 into the video. The Heel just POURS on the pressure, grinding and flexing, and Brooks suffers beautifully in it.
If you get off on Scissors, be sure to check this one out and have some tissues or a rag nearby.
The relentless thrusting and gripping by McGavin (who yanks the hair), the hair-tossing agony by Brooks, those obnoxious yellow tights locked together to harm our hero, the comments about “squeezing all the air out of him,” it all just reminds me how erotic a Body Scissor (and pro wrestling in general) can be when done properly.
A perfectly executed Suplex by McGavin, who continues to focus on the Ledge’s lower back. What a pleasure to watch Adam Brooks being torn down brick by brick, his injured lower back targeted for relentless punishment.
Is it because Brooks is so darn good looking and probably gets all the breaks in life that we are jealous of him and want to see him suffer?
In the end, Brooks squeaks out a victory and maintains his championship. He sells his lower back pain, even in victory, by sprawling on the ring ropes adorably and clutching his lumbar area.
He cant help but flash a winning smile for us, which makes me want to watch more Australian wrestling in general, and the Riot City promotion in particular.
