When Larry Zbyszko wrestled, his female valet (or lover?) Baby Doll would always watch him and cheer for him.  Larry was a hyper-masculine dude with a thick build, proudly hairy chest, really Old School no-nonsense attitude.  The presence of a spectacular woman at his side only made him seem even more manly, dominant, and confidently heterosexual.

His opponent, Tim Horner, on the other hand, has no woman to be seen.  He is soft-bellied with long blond hair and has no man-fur to flaunt.  He wears bright green speedo trunks that are clearly more revealing (more feminizing) than his opponent’s big, black shorts.  The presence of Baby Doll, as she looks at Horner’s pale body in disgust, serves to further emasculate the already less-manly Tim Horner.  She shakes her head and clucks her tongue, thinking, “I can’t believe this sissy is wearing green panties!”

The match begins with the threat of humiliation for Zbyszko as sissy-boy Horner takes control.  The implied threat is that, if Zbyszko loses the match, he will be emasculated in front of his girl.  His power and manhood will be questioned by Baby Doll.  He will lose her as his woman.

So the presence of the female at ringside, just watching the two men struggle, adds an element of sexual conquest, as if the winner gets to have her as the prize.

The name “Baby Doll” implies that she is just a toy — an inanimate object, a play-thing for Zbyszko. But at this moment, her man is devoting all of his attention to Tim Horner, putting his hands all over Horner’s body rather than her body.

So it seems Zbyszko has two “Baby Dolls” to play with:  the blonde at ringside watching him work, and the blond in the ring suffering in his grasp.  The implication, when there is a female watching the match from ringside, is that the Alpha Male wrestler has a choice: he may either return to his hetero-sexual relationship with the female, or he may continue to meet and tangle with males like Tim Horner.   The female adds the potential of a love triangle, which increases the Homosocial energy between the two competing men.

Baby Doll distracts Horner by nearly kissing him.  Later she pulls his boot to trip him, which enables her man to mount and pin the beaten boy toy.

Horner has been defeated by the actions of a woman!  This serves to further emasculate and feminize Horner, depicting him as weaker than a woman.  The end result is that Zbyszko wins the match and returns to the locker room with the Alpha Female — Baby Doll — and utterly ignores the humiliated eunuch, Tim Horner.
