Fear of Clowns, 1 of 2

Even if you don’t suffer from the fear of clowns, you must admit there is something creepy and twisted about them.  South of the border where pro wrestling has a kinkier, campier vibe, the clown tag team known as “Psycho Circus” has been thrilling the fans by decimating their competition.  They wear masks of deformity and ugliness and often bloody their opponents’ faces while unleashing hell on their bodies.  Their violent matches feel like a scene out of a twisted horror film (or your childhood nightmares.)

Their costumes are based on a low budget 1988 horror flick where aliens who resemble clowns prey upon human victims.  The name of their team, “Psycho Circus” comes from an album by the band KISS and the series of related comic books (or graphic novels if you prefer, geek.)

In a recent match down in Mexico, three wrestlers in more traditional gear agreed to step into the ring with the sadistic clowns and absorb their abuse to entertain and excite the crow.  The shirtless bodies of Rocky Romero, Chris Masters, and Alex Koslov present a stark contrast to the fully clothed and masked clowns.

All three of these men are foreign to Mexico (one from Cuba, one from the USA, and one from Russia).  All of them are rocking buff bodies and arrogant attitudes, which makes them seem even more foreign and unrelatable to the humble folks in the audience.  What will happen when these hunky hard-bodies square off against the cruel clowns?

The Mexican fans decide to cheer for the ugly monsters (who carry a Mexican flag to ensure they win the support of the fans.)   The crowd chants: “PSY-CHO!  PSY-CHO!” in support of the clowns.

This shows the degree to which the Mexican people hate foreign invasion and dominance by stronger nations.  They would rather cheer for clowns than to support foreigners!

The match begins and the fans are soon disappointed when the foreign bastards begin to punish and subdue the clowns.  The talented Russian uses his boots and fists to beat Psycho Clown into submission. By the way, it’s nice to see Alex Koslov (aka Peter Orlov) still on the pro wrestling scene.  I haven’t seen him in action in a while.

It’s also nice to see the Master Lock in use again as Chris Masters applies his unbreakable hold to win the first fall.  Since being released from WWE, Masters has been traveling globally, sharing his incredible body and his demonstrations of the power of masculinity to delighted audiences around the world (and probably having a blast while doing it.)

The Mexican audience is crestfallen to witness the superior power of the foreign invaders who defeat the clowns in the first fall.  The fans cheer for “Psycho Circus” to get their act together and deliver the mayhem and pure physical torture they normally inflict on handsome pretty-boys like these foreigners.

By the way, this match is available on YouTube but the video quality isn’t exactly perfect.
