I received many comments in response to my recent “Deflation” article, which featured a swole body-builder (Tony Atlas) being dominated by a mysterious Korean Claw hold. I apparently struck a chord with that gallery.
One of the commenters recalled another great Claw Master who used his hand strength to dominate his opponents:
“I miss watching the great Khali and his vice grip. Since he did it from behind, I could enjoy the slack jawed face of his victim as he faded toward dreamland. Batista, Triple H, Ted DiBiase, and Trent Baretta were especially great at that.”
Another commenter agreed with this praise for Khali’s skull-crushing finale, particularly on DiBiase. He provided a link to the wonderful (but all too short) Ted DiBiase squash match:
“I loved watching the Great Khali vice grip handsome studs into unconsciousness. Batista and Ted Dibiase Jr. were my favorites. I couldn’t find any good quality Batista clips, but I did get a pretty nice video of Dibiase falling victim to Khali’s skull-crushing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XMa6hnlQKQ.“
So today’s images are from the link he recommended.
Ted suffered monster abuse for most of the match from the huge foreign invader. If you’re into the Beast vs. Beauty scenario that never seems to go out of style in pro wrestling, this one is a must see.
Soon the monster wrapped his big sausage fingers around Ted’s handsome face…
The camera zooms in on those strong fingers digging and smashing without mercy. It’s like a giant squid trying to pulverize and devour a mollusk! As noted above, we see Ted’s face from a front view, his lips going limp, his handsome features contorted by those gripping claws as the camera zooms in close to really mind-fuck and excite the viewer.
The appeal of this hold is the easy control by the dominant man over his victim — using nothing but his grip to control and hurt the man. Those penetrating fingers, gouging into the helpless man’s skull and eye sockets, represent a forced entry, a face-fucking, a rude and raunchy violation by this foreign man-beast. This was an utter and climactic degradation of the pretty-boy — my favorite kind of pro wrestling.
