Young Stallions matches always open with some sweet Baby-Face Shine.
I realize I recently posted an article about the Young Stallions in action wearing their matching red speedos — see my Trunk Cam post from 7/7/16. However, when I saw that the amazing Richard Land YouTube channel posted another Young Stallions match, I knew had to capture some images of these Hunks in Red Trunks and write all about it. I can’t help it — I dig these pretty-boys and their perfect suffering bodies.
Their opponents at the Boston Gardens on 3-8-89 were the mysterious Conquistadors in their matching gold bodysuits. Their fully-covered bodies serve to emphasize the near nudity of the high-flying Young Stallions.
Working together, they are unstoppable!
In the opening minutes, we are treated to the Stallions in Stereo, operating like a well-oiled machine as they work together to dominate the masked chumps.
Seeing them acting so confident and effective will make their later failures seem even more humiliating. Here they execute a Double Arm Twister then lift their legs in sync to drop huge hamstrings on both of the helpless Conquistador’s arms.
I checked my old Wrestling Arsenal archives and discovered I already wrote about the Young Stallions wrestling the Conquistadors on 11/13/2005 in “Breaking the Stallions.”
I wanted to be sure today’s featured match is not a repeat — that I wasn’t writing up the exact same match from 11 years ago. But I can see that this is a different Stallions-vs-Conquistadors bout by the black masks (instead of solid gold) worn by the Heels.
What power we see in the swole physique of Jimmy Powers!
One nice thing about the Young Stallions is that they take turns playing the Unbeatable Warhorse or the Broken Old Mare. For example, Jimmy Powers portrayed the gelding in my recent “Trunk Cam” article, but in today’s match, he is presented as omnipotent.
Check out this picture-perfect Over The Knee Backbreaker, easily hoisting his masked plaything aloft, then cracking his spine across a bent knee. He also applies a long series of Check-Out-My-Biceps Armbars.
If you yank him more than twice, you’re playing with him.
Damn, I love pro wrestling from the 1980’s! It was so muscle-worshippy and blatantly homo-erotic.
Look at Jimmy Powers kneeling over his victim in shirtless dominance as the villain reaches between his legs to pull down the back of his trunks. The whole enjoyment of a Young Stallions match is the sweet eye-candy as they proudly display their physiques while their opponents do things to those beefy bodies that we all wish we could get in the ring and do to them too.

Here is Jimmy Powers again serving up a camera-lens-full of masculine power as he exits the ring.
My “Trunk Cam” article from a few weeks ago noted the frequency that the ringside camera would zoom in on breath-taking views like this whenever the Stallions were in action. Today’s match provides more of the same viewing opportunities.
Behind the ref’s back, the cheaters gain the advantage.
Only after Powers is restrained by the over-zealous ref do the masked men take control of Baby-Face Roma. This is further testament to the unbeatable strength and power of Jimmy Powers — that his team only falls into trouble when his buff body is sidelined. This also emphasizes the vulnerability of poor Roma.
Now at about 11 minutes into the video, we get to sit back and enjoy some wonderful Two-on-One ass kicking by the Conquistadors as they own Paul Roma.
The villains focus primarily on his throat area, choking, clothes-lining, and clawing at his neck to drain the strength out of him. Here one of the Conquistadors steps his golden boot right on Roma’s Adams Apple.
The only way they can beat him is to cheat him.
How I love these dirty sumbitches!
Lots of cruel 2-on-1 stuff from the masked villains explains how they are able to control their muscular opponent — I love this nasty bullshit.
Never turn your back on a Conquistador!
Roma plays the chump, falling for every trick in the book like a Clueless Jobber. Here he takes a Sneak Attack to the noggin as one of the Conquistadors leaps off the top rope.
As Roma sells his agony but keeps coming back for more, one of the commentators (Lord Alfred) expresses his appreciation for lithe young bodies:
“That just goes to show what tremendous reserves of power, energy, and strength that Paul Roma still has in that young lithe body. There absolutely is no substitute for youth!”
Eventually, Roma tags in his dominant partner and Powers cleans house. Roma is permitted to complete the actual pinfall, redeeming a little bit of his dignity.
This is a fun match built on the traditional Face-in-Peril formula, designed to highlight the successful bond between the handsome Young Stallions (and to show off Jimmy Powers’ big biceps.)
