Someone posted these animated GIFs on a Tumblr site of rookie Matt Hardy serving his time as a jobber in 1994. I liked what I saw, so I am re-posting the images with my comments. Here we see pre-match cockiness from jobber Matt, flexing his shoulders and pecs to show off. He will soon pay dearly for his arrogance, as jobbers always do.
Matt’s opponent, “Crush,” (also known as Brian Adams) wipes him out with a devastating Super Kick. Crush is the ruthless giant in the red singlet.
Check out the gorgeous two-toned green and white tights on the rookie, and his clean white wrestling boots. What a perfect costume for a jobber.
Next poor Matt is hoisted aloft for a picture perfect Gorilla Slam. Big Crush struts around the ring, holding his jobber’s body up for our viewing pleasure, inviting us to witness his masculine power and to drink in his strength advantage. Then the big man dumps his victim square on his back to knock the wind out of him.
I always love this flashy move because it looks so devastating and impossible to fake the pain. I think they call it the “Tilt-A-Whirl Back Breaker,” a hot sounding name in my perverted brain. Check out Matt’s sick back-bend when his lean body meets that devastating knee. He then squirms around in his fancy tights as if his body was truly broken across the big man’s knee. Beautiful job!
An arrogant cover finishes off the rookie in his flamboyant tights. Crush kneels on the broken man’s chest and flexes a bicep to emphasize (again) his superior strength and power. If the purpose of this one-sided squash was to give us all a hard-on for Crush, well they certainly succeeded in this wrestling fan’s opinion. Great job to whoever created these animations, thanks!
